Building in the Spanish tradition: I build my guitars in much the same way as the old Spanish masters
- with most operations done by hand, without the use of heavy power tools or forms. The guitar is assembled freehand
on a solera, a guitar-shaped workboard. This method is thought to bring about less internal stress on the wood,
allowing the guitar to vibrate more freely.
I go to the trouble to use hot hide glue, which forms a strong joint and facilitates vibration transfer.
Everything I do is designed to create a fine instrument the player can enjoy for a lifetime.
